The Victorian Government has banned electronic waste (or e-waste) in landfills from July 2019.
The amount of e-waste (electronic waste) we create is growing up to three times faster than general municipal waste in Australia. E-waste contains both hazardous and valuable materials that can be recovered when they reach the end of their working life.
Beware though, many electronic devices store confidential information. This includes items that may be considered harmless such as fax machines. Many fax machines have a copy of all documents sent/received stored inside them. Often this information is stored on physical roll that can be read with the naked eye.
Many printers also store printed documents on their internal hard drive. It’s important to remove the drive from the printer before it is discarded. The hard drive should be physically destroyed. Drive wiping does not always remove everything.
We can take your E-Waste, securely remove all confidential data and have the materials recycled. Data storage devices are physically destroyed.
